My brother and I needed to find a suitable care home place for our Mum, who has dementia. We visited and rejected over 20 local homes before choosing Wisteria House. Mum would have been and safe in any of the care homes we had seen. But we expected more. We wanted her to have a good quality of life rather than be merely kept alive. At Wisteria House we have found just that. Mum has lived here for nearly 3 months and our high expectations have been unfailingly exceeded. Standards are exceptional. Althoug Mum's room is lovley, she spends her daytime hours in the communal areas with the other residents. With plently of people around, and lots going on Mum is interested and happy. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. there is a feeling of comfortable, family-like belonging. The staff here do more than just care for the residents - they care about them too. I am confident Mum will continue to enjoy her life at Wisteria House. She find here the support, affection and dignity she deserves. My recommendation is enthusiastic and unreserved.
Since step-father-in law has been a resident, his self-confidence has improved as also general alertness, this is enterely due to the ambience and great persoanl care by the staff. From my visits (3-4 per week) the home is very clean and tidy and nothing is any trouble. On a 1 to 10, 9 or 10 is my vote.
Mum has been at Wisteria House since April 2017. She has settled in well. Staff are very caring and friendly. Very supportive towards helping Mum to adjust from living on her own in her bungalow and now living in the care home. Food is very good. Staff keep me informed. They have kept mum busy which is what Mum needs. The staff care for all her needs. They arrange outings for Mum. I cannot praise the staff enough - they have helped me understand dementia - I am reassured that I know Mum is safe and receiving excellent care. Thank you Wisteria House.
My mum has vascular dementia and moved into Wisteria House in April. We were so pleased to find a home where my parents could be together, dad moved in before her in March, and is more able. The home is beautiful and their own rooms are well equipped and very comfortable. The lounges are great with space for quiet or to be involved in activities be it face-painting, pampering, music and singing, all sorts of games and much more! The staff are wonderful - infinitely patient and caring and always with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble and they are all in the business of solving any queries or concerns thowever small. The key to their care is quality fo life as a priority. The food is good and there are sancks to be had at all times! The home is clean, bright and welcoming. I visit at all times of the day and I am always welcome. I feel very happy to know mum and dad are well cared for and looked after. I would recommend this home to anyone! All the staff without exception are super.
Wisteria House is a wonderful place, my mum was in a home previously and she was not happy or stimulated at all. She is now very happy, eating, drinking and sleeping well. We are delighted to see that mum is thriving, putting on weight and is very happy. Best thing we could have done for her was place her in the care fo the lovely staff here.
My husbad has been a resident here for five weeks. The care he is given is brilliant. Nothing is too much toruble for any of the carers. The activities are very good and varied.
Wisteria House Plymstock is new and only open a short while but it's well run, cannot fault in any way. Staff are approachable, loving, caring and cannot do enough for clients and visitors. Food is excellent, plently of snacks all day, beautiful, clean, very welcoming. Would recommend to anyone, thank Wisteria House for loving our mum like we do and making her and us very happy.
Both my parents moved to Wisteria House at the end of March. My mum has had Alzheimers for approximately 13 years and requires a lot of assistance. After one month, my mum appears settled and mostly happy in Wisteria House. I feel confident that staff are doing their best to understnad and meet her complex needs. Dad is more able and requires less care but have vocalised that he is satisfied with Wisteria House.
